Description
The step that makes the paint pop.
Compounding removes the defects. 3D ACA 520 brings out the colour. As stage 2 of 3D's True Paint Correction system, 520 refines the paint after cutting and removes the light haze and micro-marring that compounds leave behind. The result is a swirl-free, glass-like finish with real depth of colour.
No fillers, no die-back
Many finishing polishes use fillers to hide fine scratches. They look great at first, but after a few washes the filler wears away and the swirls reappear. That's called die-back. 520 contains no fillers, so the defects are genuinely removed and the finish lasts.

How to use
- Prep: after compounding, wipe the panel clean of any compound residue.
- Pad: fit a black foam finishing pad to your rotary or DA polisher.
- Prime: apply a small amount of 520 to the pad. Use only a little, because it stays wet and goes a long way.
- Spread at low speed, then work at polishing speed.
- Polish: keep the pad flat on the surface and make slow, overlapping passes.
- Wipe off: remove the residue with a clean microfibre towel and inspect under good light.
- Protect: follow with a wax, sealant or ceramic coating.
Pro tips
- Use less product: too much just makes residue and shortens pad life.
- Keep the pad flat: tilting it causes uneven results and holograms.
- Slow passes win: let the polish work, and don't rush.
- Use dedicated pads: keep finishing pads separate from cutting pads.
FAQs
Do I need to compound first?
If the paint has moderate to heavy defects, yes, with ACA 500 or ACA 510. On paint in good condition, 520 alone can remove light swirls and boost gloss.
What pad should I use?
A black foam finishing pad, on a rotary or DA polisher.
Is it safe before a ceramic coating?
Yes. With no fillers, the paint is truly corrected and ready to coat.
