Description

Heavy wool cut, without the lint mess.

Wool pads cut fast, but cheap wool sheds fibres everywhere and chatters across the panel. The Lake Country Low Lint Wool Cutting Pad is a professional-grade wool pad built for heavy compounding. A prewashed, knitted lambswool face is bonded to a foam interface, delivering serious cutting power with far less fibre sling and much better control.

Prewashed, low-lint lambswool

The knitted lambswool face is prewashed to minimise loose fibres, so you get a powerful cut without excessive lint and mess on the paint, the car or you.

Foam interface for control

A foam interface between the wool and the backing plate softens machine feedback, stabilises the pad and reduces chatter. That improves consistency across the panel and comfort on curves.

Cuts hard, finishes well

It removes swirls, oxidation, deep defects, water spots and 1500-grit sanding marks on any paint system. On harder clear coats, it can also finish down surprisingly well, making your follow-up polishing steps faster and cleaner.

Key features

  • Knitted lambswool face: prewashed and low lint
  • Foam interface backing: better control, comfort and stability
  • Heavy cut: removes swirls, oxidation, scratches and 1500-grit sanding marks
  • Reduced chatter: more consistent results across the panel
  • Rotary and DA compatible: for studio or mobile use
  • Finishes well on hard clears: fewer follow-up steps

Choose your size

Size Best for
3.5" Spot repairs and tight areas: pillars, mirrors and bumper edges
5" All-round correction on panels and curves
6" Fast coverage on large, flat panels

Ideal for

  • Removing sanding marks after wet sanding
  • Oxidised and heavily swirled paint

  • Hard ceramic clear coats

How to use

  1. Prep: wash, decontaminate and dry the paint.
  2. Prime the pad: brush the fibres up and work a small amount of compound into the face.
  3. Test spot: start with a small section to check the cut and finish.
  4. Cut: work small sections with slow, overlapping passes and moderate pressure.
  5. Clean the pad: brush or blow it out every section or two.
  6. Refine: follow with a polishing or finishing pad, such as the Lake Country SDO Orange Polishing Pad or SDO Black Finishing Pad, for maximum gloss.

Pad care

  • Clean it during use with a pad brush or compressed air, or with a pad washer like the Lake Country System 4000.
  • Wash it after use with warm water and a pad cleaner, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Air-dry face down, then brush the fibres back up before the next use.

FAQs

Rotary or DA?
It performs well on both.

Will it leave lint on my paint?
It's prewashed to minimise loose fibres, so there's far less lint than with standard wool pads.

Do I need to polish afterwards?
On hard clears, it can finish surprisingly well. For maximum gloss, follow with a polishing or finishing pad.
