Description

Slick lubrication for safe, smooth claying.

A clay bar pulls bonded contamination like industrial fallout, tree sap, overspray and road film off your paint, but only when there's enough lubrication between the clay and the surface. Without it, clay drags, grabs and can mar the paint. Car Candy Blue Lustre is a dedicated clay lubricant that lets the clay glide, so it can lift contaminants safely and leave the paint smooth as glass.

Works with any clay

Blue Lustre is formulated to work with all detailing clay bars, clay mitts and clay towels, so you can use it with whatever you already have.

Know when you're done

As the clay removes contamination, it moves more and more freely. When it glides effortlessly across the panel, that section is clean and you can move on.

Key features

  • Dedicated clay lubricant: high lubrication to protect paint while claying
  • Works with all clay: clay bars, clay mitts and clay towels
  • Ready to use: just spray and clay
  • Easy wipe-off: removes cleanly with a microfibre cloth

Sizes

  • 946 mL: ideal for home detailers
  • 3.78 L: best value for detailers and workshops

How to use

  1. Wash: start with a clean, washed car. Work on cool panels in the shade.
  2. Spray: mist Blue Lustre generously over one small section at a time.
  3. Clay: glide the clay bar back and forth with light pressure until it moves smoothly.
  4. Wipe: remove the remaining lubricant with a clean microfibre cloth.
  5. Repeat: move on to the next section until the whole car is done.

Pro tips

  • Never clay dry: if the clay starts to grab or squeak, add more Blue Lustre.
  • Fold the clay often: fold it to expose a clean face as it picks up contamination.
  • Drop it, bin it: if a clay bar hits the ground, throw it away, because it'll pick up grit that scratches paint.
  • Follow up: claying can leave light marring, so polish if needed and then protect the paint with a wax, sealant or coating.

FAQs

Will it work with my clay bar?
Yes. It's formulated for all detailing clay bars, mitts and towels.

How do I know when a section is clean?
The clay will glide effortlessly with no grabbing or roughness. You can also run your fingertips over the paint inside a thin plastic bag. It should feel completely smooth.

Can I use soapy water instead?
Soapy water gives less lubrication and can break down some clays. A dedicated lubricant like Blue Lustre is safer for your paint.
