GTECHNIQ I1 Smart Fabric (Antibacterial) - 500ml/1L/5L

I1 Smart Fabric protects all types of fabric from water- and oil-based stains. It is breathable, extremely durable, and fluorocarbon-free.

I1 Smart Fabric transforms ordinary fabrics into water-repellent, easy-to-clean surfaces. Use it to prevent soaking, swelling, and rotting on a wide range of materials — from sails, tents, and awnings to your car’s soft top and interior fabrics.

With added BioCote® antimicrobial technology, treated surfaces kill 99.9% of bacteria.

The nano-particles in I1 coat each individual fabric fibre without affecting texture or breathability. This allows air to escape naturally while repelling water and oil-based liquids.

I1 Smart Fabric is colour-safe and will not tarnish finishes; however, we recommend testing on a small, inconspicuous area before full application.

I1 Smart Fabric V3 leaves no visible residue from spills — moisture simply beads and rolls off the coated surface. Laboratory testing confirms that I1 V3 achieves the highest water repellency standard set by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC ISO 5).

Rigorous wash testing shows that GTECHNIQ fabric protection maintains full performance after washing at 40°C. Even after five washes, it continues to outperform the original formula.

Instructions for Use

Surface Preparation

• For interior surfaces, use I2 TriClean to prepare the area before application.

• For exterior surfaces, use W5 Citrus All Purpose Cleaner neat for heavily soiled areas, or dilute 5:1 with water for lighter contamination.

Ensure the cleaned surface is completely dry before applying I1 Smart Fabric. For best results, allow up to 48 hours of drying time in good conditions. For optimal impregnation, the fabric’s moisture content must be below 15% — significantly drier than “touch dry.”

Application

• Shake well before use and wear gloves.

• Apply at temperatures of 5°C or above in a well-ventilated area.

• Do not apply in direct sunlight.

• Spray evenly from approximately 15 cm away, ensuring thorough saturation of the surface.

Apply carefully and evenly. Once the first coat has dried, additional coats cannot be applied, as the treated surface will repel further product.

Avoid overspray onto surrounding surfaces. If this occurs, wipe immediately with an MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth. Also remove any excess product from the fabric with a clean MF1 cloth.

Drying & Storage

• Allow to dry for 24 hours. Full product effectiveness will be achieved after this time.

• Store in a cool, dry place.

• Use within 12 months of opening.
